About Korean Cars Melbourne
Why did you start Korean Cars Melbourne?
Korean Cars Melbourne was created to build a welcoming, well-organised community for owners and enthusiasts of Korean vehicles.
We have experienced firsthand the impact car communities can have for friendships and wellbeing, and we wanted to bring that to Korean car owners across Melbourne.
What started as a small group of friends has grown into a community of hundreds of members who share a passion for cars, photography, road trips and meeting like-minded people.
Our focus has always been simple: create events that people genuinely enjoy attending and a community where everyone feels welcome.
What makes Korean Cars Melbourne different?
We're passionate about creating more than just car events.
Our focus is on building a welcoming, respectful community where people enjoy great roads, good conversation and genuine friendships. Whether it's your first event or your fiftieth, we want every member to feel comfortable, included and excited to come back.
For us, the community has always come first.
Do I need a modified car to join?
Not at all.
Whether your car is completely stock, tastefully modified or a full show build, you're welcome at KCM.
Our community includes daily drivers, family cars, performance models and everything in between.
Do you only accept Korean cars?
Yes.
KCM is dedicated to Korean automotive brands, including Hyundai, Kia and Genesis.
Passengers and spectators are always welcome, but member vehicles attending events should be Korean.
Is KCM affiliated with Hyundai, Kia or Genesis?
No.
Korean Cars Melbourne is an independent community created and run by enthusiasts. We are not affiliated with any manufacturer.
About events
What kind of events do you run?
We run frequent meets and regular drive days. You can see what we have coming up on our events page.
Our meets are a relaxed way to catch up with the rest of the community, check out their cars and go for a short cruise between stops. They're held in the evening and are an easy way to get involved.
Our drive days take us throughout Victoria on some of its best winding roads. We explore a different region every time. They usually run throughout the whole day, starting in the mid-morning and returning in the late afternoon.
No matter your schedule, there is something for you.
What is the atmosphere like at events?
Relaxed, friendly and inclusive.
Many of our members attend alone for the first time, so we work hard to create an environment where new people feel comfortable introducing themselves and becoming part of the community.
We aim to be a safe space for everyone. Our events are about enjoying great cars and good company, not showing off or competing. There is no room for egos.
Our members span all stages of life, with many women members and members identifying as part of the LGBTIQA+ community.
Do I need to RSVP for events?
Yes. Most of our events require registration so we can manage attendance, communicate important updates and ensure venues and locations are suitable for the number of people attending. Some events have limited places and may book out quickly.
If your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible. Many of our drive days have waitlists, and cancelling early gives another member the opportunity to attend.
Can I attend if I am on P plates?
Absolutely.
Drivers of all experience levels are welcome, provided they hold a valid licence and follow the road rules.
Can I attend if I don't know anyone?
Absolutely.
Many members come to their first event without knowing anyone, and they leave having made new friends.
If you're new, introduce yourself. We will always help people settle in and introduce them to other members.
Can I bring a friend, partner or family member?
Of course.
Passengers are always welcome, and many members bring partners, family or friends along to enjoy our events.
If you are bringing a passenger on a drive day, please let us know in case we need to change any bookings.
Can I take photos and videos at events?
Yes.
Photography and videography are a big part of KCM and help us showcase the community. By attending an event, members acknowledge that photos or videos may be captured and shared on our social media channels or website.
Why are drive days limited to 30 cars?
Our drive days are intentionally limited to around 30 cars to ensure everyone has the best possible experience.
Many of our events visit regional towns and local businesses, where parking, cafés and restaurants have limited capacity. Keeping our groups to a manageable size makes it much easier to find suitable parking, enjoy meals together and move between locations without overwhelming the places we visit.
It also allows us to maintain the relaxed, well-organised atmosphere that our drive days are known for.
About membership
Does it cost money to join?
No. Membership is free. Our meets are also free to attend.
How do I become a member?
Simply complete the registration form on our website.
Membership is free and gives you access to event registrations, community updates and exclusive partner offers.
Are there any rules?
We ask every member to help maintain the friendly atmosphere that makes KCM what it is.
That means:

How do you protect my privacy?
We take your privacy seriously.
The information you provide when joining KCM is only used to manage your membership, communicate about events and improve the community. We don't sell your information or use it for marketing outside of KCM.
Only the KCM organisers have access to member information, and if you ever decide KCM isn't for you, just let us know and we'll remove your details.

What is the role of KCM's sponsors?
Our sponsors are some of Melbourne's best automotive businesses that support the community in practical ways.
Rather than providing funding, our sponsors offer exclusive discounts to KCM members, helping them save money on products and services for their cars.
Our sponsors also host events and help introduce new enthusiasts to the community. In return, we proudly support and promote their businesses to our members.
It's a genuine partnership built on shared values and mutual support — not paid advertising.
Do you collaborate with other organisations?
Yes.
We're always open to collaborating with businesses, clubs and community organisations that share our values and are committed to creating welcoming, respectful and enjoyable experiences.
From time to time, we partner with others to host special events, introduce our members to new experiences and strengthen the wider automotive community.
That said, we're selective about who we partner with. The atmosphere and culture of our events will always be our highest priority, and we'll only collaborate with organisations that align with those values.
